We are soon coming to our sixth report of “Versatile XieHe”. Every day in Wanyuan, we can see pupils shuttling back and forth in our culture-integrated campus where “ East meets West”, leaving their remarkable characteristics into every aspects of school lives. Familiar smiles and hurried figures are always filled with happiness and confidence. Lives in Wanyuan would be precious treasures and glorious memories, of their childhood happiness and juvenile innocence.It is said, “You can’t burn the candle at both ends.” However, this does happen in Wanyuan, which also has been reflected in last series of reports. Today again, we are going to introduce a special report, of an outstanding pupil from Grade 8, let’s have a look how she “burns the candle at both ends”.

Learning is far beyond classroom teaching and is intrinsic to our lives. The series of “Versatile XieHe” reports aim to help discover a diverse life in school education from different perspectives. “Whilst Mr. East and Ms. West move one step towards to each other, the gap between the two will be getting ever smaller, and I believe they would finally meet up.” Sticking to the value that “unity in diversity, innovation through collaboration”, XieHe is always dedicated to cultivate world citizenship with a great open vision, where east meets west. In Wanyuan, lives are enriched with colorful and versatile elements, which are huge enrichment to the academic achievements. In XieHe, we do have gifted pupils with their fantastic performance.

丽晶与花样游泳的不解缘分，仅仅是从一句不经意的话开始的！
儿时的丽晶体弱多病，却异常好动，一边学习芭蕾，一边学习游泳，两边忙得不可开交。妈妈看着心疼，就对年幼的丽晶不经意地说了一句话：“不如把游泳和芭蕾合在一起学怎么样？！”这种源于疼爱、却又具有无比超前眼光的一句话，从此让丽晶的人生开启了一扇新的大门。

儿时的丽晶体弱多病，却异常好动，一边学习芭蕾，一边学习游泳，两边忙得不可开交。妈妈看着心疼，就对年幼的丽晶不经意地说了一句话：“不如把游泳和芭蕾合在一起学怎么样？！”这种源于疼爱、却又具有无比超前眼光的一句话，从此让丽晶的人生开启了一扇新的大门。
专业体育训练的辛苦与学校上课截然不同。花样游泳需要柔韧和力量，丽晶的柔韧是队里面最差的一个，所以从小就接受着比别人更加痛苦的训练与自己更加刻苦的努力。当时的丽晶是队里面最小的一个，却必须与那些练了许久的队员一起训练同样的计划。在这样高强度的训练下，丽晶也曾一度想过要放弃，但最终在自己的执念支撑下、在家人的鼓励陪伴下、以及朋友的支持帮助下，再度战胜困难，重新站在花样游泳的舞台上。
小小年纪的丽晶是队里面为数不多的经历了两次市运会的人。或许是她的性格使然，凡是尽力追求完美。别人在偷偷放松的时候，却拼命地坚持着。
成功一定不是偶然，不仅有自己的努力，还有身后的教练、家长和朋友。从曾经默默无闻的跑龙套到现在光芒耀眼的主力队员，从曾经的少不更事到现在的大器稳重，都一步步地见证了丽晶的每一个成长。
第九届亚洲游泳分龄锦标赛花样游泳比赛双人C组第五名；
全国青少年花样游泳锦标赛青年组 自由组合第二名；
上海市第十六届运会，花样游泳A组双人自由自选第一名；
上海市第十六届运动会花样游泳 A组单人自由自选第二名；
花样游泳给了我许多，不仅是让我认识到了团队合作的力量，也让我明白了“台上一分钟，台下十年功”的道理。从最初的上海市锦标赛，到国外的亚洲游泳锦标赛。从中所包含的泪水与汗水，绝不是仅靠语言能够表现出来的。
Thanks to synchronized swimming, I have experienced the power of teamwork and understood the truth of “one minute performance on stage requires ten years of practice”. Tens of swimming tournaments and championships, either in Shanghai or far away in Asia, drops of tears and sweat are good companion, which is far beyond to be described by language only.
我眼中的学校是一个中西文化融合的大家庭。良好的学习环境，走班选课，让我们显得与众不同。为适应未来高中的生活，增添了许多体验的机会。 我眼中的学校，有老师无微不至的体贴和谆谆不悔的教导；也有同学心心碎碎的惦念和坚固不催的友谊；同学的善良与热情让我感受到了春天的温暖。我就在这样的一个大家庭熏陶感染下，不断地茁壮成长。
我眼中的学校，各类丰富的活动让我学校的生活不再孤单。畅游在知识的海洋里，栖息在快乐的枝梢上，沐浴在友谊的殿堂中，让我少年的记忆更加多彩！
老师眼中的我
ME from Teachers
“秀外慧中”，这是老师对丽晶最深刻的印象。不仅性格开朗，思维敏捷，同时也拥有着他人所没有的坚毅的内心。似一首优雅的小诗，不管外貌还是性格，都给人以清新、隽永之感，而踏实的作风也让老师畅然。日本作家池田大作有言：“每走一步，就前进一步。前进一步，看到的道路就更加宽阔。”希望小姑娘可以在成长的道路上，逐渐探寻完善自我，塑造一个自由而独立的灵魂。
Jessica has impressed teachers profoundly with her ‘pretty appearance and smart intelligence’. Not only being cheerful, quick-minded, but also persistent, Jessica appears to be an elegant little poem, attractive either in her appearance or the character, a sense of freshness and timelessness, while her pragmatic style comforts teachers tremendously. Once Japanese writer Ikeda said: “Every step forward, further you would move. Every movement forward, a brighter future you would have.” Hope that the little girl can explore her future so as to forge an independent personality.
在正式采访之前，丽晶已经成了老师们圈子里的网红了。别人眼中的成就，在丽晶看来只是她生活中普普通通的一部分。谦虚、孝顺，但又不失自信和阳光，这是丽晶给Mr.LG最深刻的印象。Mr. LG破例让丽晶在此说出最想对爸爸妈妈说的话：“谢谢亲爱的爸爸妈妈为我所付出的一切，你们给了我最好，将来我也要给你们最好。”Mr.LG在此祝愿Jessica乘风破浪，扬帆人生！
Jessica has became very popular among school teachers before the interview with Mr. LG. The achievement was a great success to others, but just very common to Jessica. Humble and respect, but confident and optimistic, those were impressions to Mr. LG. Here Mr. LG would give her a special chance to say something to her dear parents: “Thank you Daddy and Mummy for everything that you have done for me, you gave me what you thought the best, and one day in future, i would pay back my best to you.” Mr. LG sincerely wishes Jessica a very success in future!
