The summer full of countless ice-lollies and soft drinks had crept in and left us before we realized it. After saying goodbye to the enjoyable and comfortable holiday, we came to embrace the new term. The assembly today marks a new chapter for the bright future.

奏唱国歌之后，刘主任首先向我们大家介绍了新学期校园的新变化：从校园外观上来说，一支辛勤的施工队在这片我们往日学习读书的土地上劳作了两个月。烈日炎炎下汗流浃背，只为帮我们创造出更好的学习环境。而从学校内部来说，新的学期，又有新的老师、同学加入了协和的大家庭。希望他们能在协和拥有一段别样的人生经历。
After singing the national anthem, Mr. Liu told us about the changing of our school in the new term . A group of laborious workers were working in the place where we studied before for about two months. They worked hard under the demanding, hot weather just to help us build a better study environment. As for the interior of the school, many new teachers joined our warm SUIS family in the new term. We hope they can have an unforgettable life experience in our school!
多彩校园，更离不开精神的传承！上一届九年级的年级组长杨琴老师，向我们分享了上届九年级的中考情况。144的英语平均分，80％的市区重点率，100％的高中升学率……这些让人叹为观止的数据不停诉说着学长们努力、努力、再努力的辉煌。但我相信，那些曾经的种种成绩都是用来被超越的，努力才会有收获是个亘古不变的真理。而真正实践它，才是取得成功的不二法门。
A colorful school can’t thrive without the inheritance of the spirit. The previous Grade Nine leader Mrs. Yang shared the zhongkao result with us. The average score of English is 144; 100% of the students were admitted by senior middle school, with 80% entering the key senior middle school. These fantastic data told everybody the everlasting hardworking of the last Grade Nine students. However, I believe that with hard working, we can surpass the record. Truly doing it is the only way to succeed.
最后，全校长向我们分享了学校管乐团拜访日本姐妹学校的经历和感受。不难看出，相较于日本的姐妹学校，我们还是要在自主学习和同学间互帮互助两方面多加努力。全校长语重心长地教导我们在新学期多吃点苦，多吃点亏。
In the end, Headmaster Mr. Quan made a speech about his visiting to a Japan middle school with our school’s wind band. It’s not difficult to find that compared to them, we still need to improve a lot on self-study and mutual help. Mr. Quan taught us to bear hardships and don’t be afraid to be put at a disadvantage.
