Team Relay Competition of Canoe Challenge

I like the kayaking class offered by the school, and I like the feeling that I can freely shuttle in the lake with colorful kayaks in my diving suit. At that moment, I felt like a free fish in the lake. When I saw the registration notice of the school kayak challenge, I was excited and nervous. I wanted to take part in it, but I was worried about failure. Fortunately, Miss Wang encouraged me to focus on participation, so I signed up for the team competition happily. On Saturday morning, November 5, my parents and I arrived at the kayak base in Gumei Park on time. Many competitors and parents with cameras had arrived early. The base was filled with the school’s 10th anniversary flags. The gold trophy on the trophy rack at the door was shining in the sun. The coach told us about the rules of the team race, which was divided into two groups. Each group had four groups. Three people in each group rowed three kayaks side by side. The people on the left rowed the left oars, the people on the right rowed the right oars, and the people in the middle didn’t hold the oars. They just needed to hold the kayaks on the left and right, making sure that the three boats were close together like sandwich cookies. Then the two groups relay, and the first group is the champion. I was placed in the middle of the first group, and then we went to wear life jackets to make preparations. With the sound of the referee’s order, our three small canoes flew out like arrows. Two students next to me rowed hard with the wooden oars. I tried my best to hold their canoes tightly to ensure that we were in the same direction. Everyone did not speak, only the sound of the roaring wooden oars. The lake was reflected with big white clouds in the blue sky. Even the small fish in the lake felt our nervousness and did not jump out of the water, My arm was getting more and more sore. When I could hardly hold on, I finally arrived at the shore. Unexpectedly, the other side rowed a little faster than our group. The three of us went ashore with regret. We still lost the second group. I lay on the railing and looked at the lake. I was a little sad. Is our class going to lose? Unexpectedly, the students in the third group sped up their speed and were on a par with each other. The students in the fourth group even made great efforts to move their hands like the wheel of wind and fire, and they started to overtake each other. It seemed that the students and parents in the competition were ignited! Everyone was excited and shouted: “6B Come on!”, In the end, these three students lived up to expectations and surpassed each other. We Class 6B made concerted efforts to turn defeat into victory and won the championship! We won! Cheers resounded throughout the Gumei Park. Then we went to the podium and cheerfully received the champion’s trophy. This was the first time that I got the sports trophy. I felt like eating candies. After this competition, I have two feelings. Firstly, in the face of competition and challenges,do not be afraid; participate bravely; Secondly, even if we failed at the beginning, we should not give up easily. If we work together, we will turn the defeat into victory. Everything is possible in the future, and it is in our own hands.

I had a fly start and took the immediate lead ahead of other players, though I was quickly running out of power at halfway stage, it became a hard journey then, what I could do is keep paddling pace, keep forwarding, till crossed the line first. I won a champion trophy in the women’s Kayak Single contest of SUIS Wanyuan, what a wonderful surprise! “I am over the moon!”. This is a memorable moment in my past 5 years at primary school with SUIS Wanyuan, it will inspire me to break more boundaries in the years to come.I started Kayaking because it’s such a fun to play on lake, I enjoyed paddling silently close to nature after school hours, soon after, I learned some basics of this amazing water sport.I feel pride for being with SUIS, where school offers varied sports teams and extracurricular activities. I play in school teams of badminton and cheerleading, thanks to my teacher and coach for the opportunities provided me, I loved to try playing sports and find if I enjoy it, I can be great it.. Playing sports makes me more efficient when studying, helps me stay active and feel happier. I enjoy sports competition as well, had many successes in badminton and cheerleading though sometimes setbacks too, but in the end all my energy, passion and strength would be rewarded.
