SUIS WanYuan PD Day

On a Saturday morning with breeze, we held the SUIS Wan Yuan Professional Development Day with full expectation.

As one of the events for November ‘Academic’topic serial activities for SUIS WY Ten-Year anniversary celebration, via this opportunity, we invited all staff to gather together, to know each other, to enhance understanding and deeper knowledge towards the core values and elements of our high school curriculum, while at the same time, to look forward to next ten years of SUIS Wan Yuan Campus.

At 0900 in the morning, all staff were seated as scheduled for 25 groups in the auditorium. The whole day event was officially started with the speech from our Principal Mr Paul QUAN. Reviewing the last three years since covid19 occurred, we have experienced various difficulties and challenges, although as uneasy as it has been, but all will go away in the end.

Looking back at the ten year development periods of our SUIS Wan Yuan campus, we have made great achievements. Now we have more than 2300 students, our student-teacher relationship is positive. We have outstanding education features and stable education quality. While at the same time, this is a very good timing for us to think about how to embrace a better future.

With the inspirational words from the speech of our Principal, everyone started to have self reflection and think about how to achieve the strategic target of our Center and our campus; how each department can function well to best display its advantages.

Each department has its own features, we need to stand in each other’s angle to find out a reasonable solution on how to better support each other. This is the same rule applied to each department. In thinking, we welcomed the presentation from Ms Nancy JIA, our Co-Head of High School.

Although time is limited, Ms Nancy JIA’s presentation is full of details and quite informative, in which the warm up sessions and the whole presentation led the morning activities atmosphere to the first peak.

After the presentation, we had a session of brainstorming and group discussion.

Each group members had heated discussion on each topics as scheduled and presented. In the auditorium you can our teachers actively and positively participated, some of them were listening carefully to group members’ sharing, some responded actively to have deeper discussion; some stood up to help recording the valuable points on the paper. The minds sparkled in the air which promoted more recognition and harmony.

After the discussion, our Principal invited various subjects groups representatives to come onto the stage giving a group presentation which led to the audience applauses and recognition deep from hearts.

The morning session was ended with an overall conclusive speech from our Principal.

After the lunch, all departments had activities separately. Among which, we had the honor to invite Ms SUN Jing Xian, the Dean of office of Min Hang Education College to provide a specific speech for Maths teachers on; Chinese teachers attended the lecture given by Mr YIN Xiu De, the Chinese researcher of Min Hang District Education College on; the English department arranged Primary-Middle School group research presentation on the Municipal Thematic Research on. Other subjects and department activities were carried on at different venues in the classrooms. When you walked along the corridors, through the window you may see that teachers have received a lot from their attentive face with smiles.
