Learning is far beyond classroom teaching and is intrinsic to our lives. The series of “Versatile XieHe” reports aim to help discover a diverse life in school education from different perspectives. “Whilst Mr. East and Ms. West move one step towards to each other, the gap between the two will be getting ever smaller, and I believe they would finally meet up.” Sticking to the value that “unity in diversity, innovation through collaboration”, XieHe is always dedicated to cultivate world citizenship with a great open vision, where east meets west. In Wanyuan, lives are enriched with colorful and versatile elements, which are huge enrichment to the academic achievements.

It’s Me

大家好，我是林润杰。时间过的真快啊，一眨眼似的，初中就已经毕业了。回首过去，那九年协和人，四年万源协和双语的校园生活，点点滴滴依旧记忆犹新。同学们的欢笑，老师们的话语依旧在回荡着，余音不绝。记得六年级的我刚刚踏进这校园，那时候的我真是个十足的萌新，在这诺大的校园中显得如此稚嫩、青涩。再看看现在的自己，成熟且乐观开朗，有了能肩负更多责任的能力和更加明确的人生目标。是万源协和，促成了我的成长。

Hi, I’m Jerry Lin.How time flies, like the blink of an eye, junior high school has graduated. Looking back on the past, the four years of Wanyuan life is still fresh in my mind. The laughter of my classmates and the words of my teachers are still reverberating. I remember when I was in sixth grade when I was really a full sprout new, in this big campus appears so tender and green. Looking at myself now, being more mature and optimistic, have the ability to shoulder more responsibilities and a clearer goals in life. It was Wanyuan that changed me.

我很感谢万源协和，感谢她为我提供的全方面、多元化的发展方向以及各方面的能力培养。这一点贯穿着我的初中生涯，从六年级初，到九年级末。

I am very grateful to WANYUAN for providing me with all-round, diversified development direction and ability cultivation in various aspects. This continued throughout my junior high school years, from the beginning of sixth grade to the end of ninth grade.

首先，是校园里的乐团。在六年级时，我因为对打击乐的兴趣而加入了万源协和管乐团。一开始的我因为缺乏经验，生怕自己做错了什么而对参与这个陌生的团体感到不安，但渐渐地，我发现自己的理解有些片面和多余。打击乐队里学哥学姐和蔼可亲，会不辞辛苦地帮助我们这些萌新，这使我动力十足。在一次次排练中、一次次失败和磨练后，我的能力有了很大提升，不仅是打击乐相关的，更是有了承担更多责任的能力和敢作敢为、团结一心的精神。从一个萌新到担任打击乐声部长，各方面的均衡发展便是万源协和教会我以及我们团队里的每一个学生的能力。

First, the orchestra. When I was in grade 6, I joined wanyuan Orchestra because of my interest in percussion. At first, I felt uneasy about participating in this unfamiliar group because of my lack of experience and the fear that I might do something wrong. But gradually, I found that I was wrong. The elder ones in percussion music is kind and friendly, and will go out of their way to help us these cute new, which makes me very motivated. After rehearsals, failures and trials, my ability has been greatly improved, not only in percussion, but also with the ability to assume more responsibilities and the spirit of courage and unity. From being a newcomer to serving as the head of percussion, WANYUAN Union has brought me development in all aspects.

其次，是校园的包容与鼓励的氛围。在我的日常生活中，我十分喜欢骑自行车。在我的眼里，自行车不仅仅是交通工具，它们更是毅力、爆发力与速度的代表。为了磨练自己、开拓眼界，我曾经在八年级的暑假进行了360公里的环青海湖骑行，以及接下来的环崇明岛、淀山湖100公里左右的长途骑行。从骑行前天天训练体能，到骑行时克服对道路、高海拔的物理上的障碍，再到最终克服心理上对高速公路大车、路边就是悬崖这种心理上的障碍。这一切，在当抵达终点线的时候，便在心头开出一朵朵小花，告诉我：这一切都是值得的。所有的这些坚持，都是万源协和在日常的校园文化中，潜移默化地教会了我们：相信自己，坚持做一件事情并且把它做好。

I like cycling very much. In my eyes, bicycles are not only a means of transportation, but also a symbol of perseverance, explosive power and speed. In order to hone myself and broaden my horizon, I once cycled 360 kilometers around Qinghai Lake and 100 kilometers around Chongming Island and Dianshan Lake in the summer vacation of grade eight. From daily physical training before riding, to overcoming the physical obstacles of the road and high altitude when riding, to finally overcoming the psychological obstacles of the highway, the road is a cliff. All this, when arrived at the finish line, then in the heart of a blossoming flower, tell me: it was all worth it.

细细回顾四年的万源协和生活，感慨有太多，这些点滴见证了我一次又一次成长。但纵观全局，是万源协和让我迎来了人生中第一次蜕变，使我感到充实幸福。从中，我拥有了多元的思维能力、更强的学习能力以及综合能力。

Looking back on the four years of wanyuan life, there are too many regrets, as well as too many witnesses I grow up again and again. But looking at the overall situation, It is WANYUAN that ushered in the first transformation in my life and made me feel full and happy. From it, I have diversified thinking ability, stronger learning ability and comprehensive ability.

今年7月，我以优异的中考成绩录取到自己的零志愿——上海交通大学附属中学闵行分校，成为了一名高中生。现在开始，我面对全新的求学环境，扬帆起航。但母校万源协和，永远在我的心里。她是我的港湾，我在其中茁壮成长。万源协和教会我的，我将会一直珍视。

Now, I have been a senior high school student. But I will never forget SUIS, she is my harbor, I thrive in it. Now I have set sail, I will keep whatSUIS had brought me with the rest of my life. Thank you, SUIS.

协和在我的眼中，不仅仅是学校。于我，她更多是一个家。她有着极高质量的硬件设施，随时准备支持学生；学习氛围十分融洽，同学们团结友爱，也让我有很强的归属感和荣誉感。最重要的是，万源协和注重多元化发展的特点以及老师同学积极开放包容的思维，使我受益无穷。

In my point of view, SUIS is not only a school. She’s more of a home to me. She has high quality hardware facilities, ready to support students; Learning atmosphere is very harmonious, the students’ solidarity and friendship, also let me have a strong sense of belonging and honor. The most important thing is that WANYUAN pays attention to the characteristics of diversified development and the positive and open mind of teachers and students, which has benefited me a lot.

印象最深的便是DT课的一个个项目以及科学展。在DT课上，同学们三两个结成一组解决老师提出的问题和项目。我们在课上有极大的自主性，这培养了我们的发散性思维和实践能力。同时在制作项目的过程中我们还会遇到各式各样的问题。同样，这些问题也是开放的，我们可以随意发挥以解决它们。这种学习方式被我应用到学习生活的各个方面，使我受益良多。

What impressed me most was the projects of DT class and science fair. In DT class, students work in groups of two or three to solve problems and projects presented by the teacher. We have great autonomy in class, which cultivates our divergent thinking and practical ability. At the same time, in the process of making projects, we will also encounter various problems. Again, these problems are open and we can play with them to solve them. This way of learning has been applied to all aspects of my learning life, which has benefited me a lot.

一次次博物馆学习，比如去曲阜研学；一个又一个自己探索的学习项目以及一项项的体育活动，都使我感受到了协和大家庭的温暖。从中，我不知不觉养成了许多好习惯，综合方面的能力也在一次次活动和挑战中得到加强。我想，这就是万源协和的魅力吧。

Many museum studies, research trips to Qufu, one study project after another, and sports activities have made me feel the warmth of the SUIS family. From it, I unconsciously formed a lot of good habits, comprehensive ability has also been strengthened in the activities and challenges. I think this is the charm of Wanyuan Union.

林润杰向来是个善良、正气的孩子，也是个努力把每件事情都做到最好的学生。他的学习态度十分端正能出色地完成各项学习任务，并且学习能力也很优秀能够取得优异的学习成绩，多次获得初中部颁发的奖学金就是对他付出勤奋努力的最好证明。在我们小林略显腼腆的外表下，有一个强大且充满智慧的内心，在自己拥有美好与进步的同时也不忘记和同学伙伴一起分享，明媚自己的同时也照亮了他人。在前行的人生道路上，相信帅气的林润杰同学会时常领悟师长们的谆谆教诲，保持勤奋和努力，奔向自己的远大理想！
