欢声笑语，华服盛装，清晨的风微微吹起了那辉煌文明的神秘面纱，孩子们迈着兴奋和好奇的步伐踏入了学校的大门。

Amidst laughter, the morning wind gently unveiled the mysteries of a brilliant civilization, as an array of costume-adorned children excitedly stepped into the school gate bemused with curiosity.

如画的风景，神秘的图腾，古老的歌谣，辉煌的文化。我们仿佛走过了哆啦A梦的任意门一般，瞬间穿越来到奇妙的美洲。2020年11月6日，上海市民办万源城协和双语学校小学部第七届洲际嘉年华盛大开幕！今年的主题是“登美洲脊梁，品玛雅文化”。

Picturesque scenery, mystical totems, ancient ballads, and splendid culture- It seemed as if we had crossed through some kinds of secret portal and instantaneously transported to the wonderful Americas. On November 6, 2020, the 7th Intercontinental Carnival of the SUIS WanYuan Primary school opened grandly! This year’s theme is ‘A trip to wonderland’.

报告厅里，精彩的品欢相声表演让孩子们开怀大笑。演员们妙语连珠，让大家深深地感受到了语言的艺术以及那古老又神秘的魅力。

The entertaining cross-talk performance made the children laugh. The actors’ witty words exemplified the art of language and imparted a deep appreciation for its ancient and mysterious charm.

每间教室里，爸爸妈妈齐上阵，他们化身为不同风格的老师走上讲台。通过嘉年华前课的学习，孩子们初次登上神秘的未知土地，开始领略数千年前的美洲风光。

In each classroom, moms and dads joined the action as teachers of different styles. Through research leading up to the carnival, children embarked on the mysterious unknown land for the first time, and began to appreciate the Americas as they were thousands of years ago.

家长课堂

历经一个多月热火朝天的排练准备，在双语组老师的精心策划，家长志愿者的完美配合下，盛装出席的全校长宣布这万众瞩目的嘉年华开幕式表演在大剧院正式拉开帷幕。今年在开幕式上的全校长摇身一变成为了一位令人景仰的酋长，指引着我们的“小玛雅人”们向大家呈现出了精彩的舞台剧。孩子们在美轮美奂的舞台，生动有趣的人物，引人入胜的剧情里体验了一把惊心动魄的美洲探险历程。

The headmaster, dressed in Amazonian garments, officially announced the highly anticipated opening of the carnival the Grand Theater after more than a month of careful preparation, rehearsals, attentive planning by the bilingual teaching team and the perfect cooperation of parents and volunteers. In this year’s opening ceremony, the headmaster turned into an admirable chieftain, guiding our “little Mayans” to present a wonderful stage play. The children experienced a thrilling journey of South American exploration on the beautiful stage alive with vivid characters and a fascinating plot.

精彩的开幕式落下帷幕，嘉年华活动仍在继续。这精彩的背后凝结了总导演、老师们的无数心血和创意，汇聚了家长义工们的辛勤付出，还离不开可爱的孩子们一次又一次的辛苦排练……由衷地感谢他们，为万源协和带来一场别开生面的视觉盛宴。最后，再次感谢全体小学部全体师生和家委会对本次嘉年华开幕式的大力支持！

The wonderful opening ceremony has come to an end and carnival activities continue. Behind the scene,  it condensed countless efforts and creativity of chief director and teachers . It gathered the hard work of parents volunteers, and also our lovely children’s repeating rehearsals. Sincerely thanks to them for bringing such a unique visual feast for SUIS Wanyuan. Finally, many thanks again to all the teachers, students and family committee of the Primary School for their strong support to the opening ceremony of the carnival!

欢乐精彩只是开始，在接下来的一个月时间里，所有的学生都将围绕“美洲”这个主题开展丰富多彩的学习活动。希望每一个孩子可以在学习的过程中像科学家一样探究；像工程师一样思考；像艺术家一样创作；像企业家一样营销……

Fun and wonder is just the beginning. Throughout this whole month, students will carry out colorful learning activities around the theme of ‘the Americas’. I hope every child can explore like a scientist, think like an engineer, create like an artist, and market like an entrepreneur.
